The fact that he is wearing all black and the background is white could show his dominance. The clothes he is wearing aren’t smart so this could be showing that he’s a gangster along with him smoking. His eyes are blacked out so you can’t really see his emotions, his facial expressions show that he doesn’t really care what he’s doing as he’s smoking. The light looks to be coming in from the left against his head and shining against his ring. The ring stands out in the image and looks expensive, the ring could symbolize he is married and is a family man.
